Writing with passion, not writing about passion.
What makes the difference between a book you can't put down and one you barely make it through? Passion. The passion of the writer for her craft.
Passion is the theme of the Winter 2014 Issue of CapeWomenOnline magazine, and in my regular column, The Write Way, I'm talking about how an author needs to be passionate about making sure her work sparkles on the page and draws readers right in.
The issue is chock full of great articles about topics these writers are passionate about. In the Literary Women section, there's a great article by K.R. Conway about book marketing and what she did to get her debut YA novel attention last fall.
You can find my column HERE. But take a minute to click around the magazine and read some of the other stories as well. When people are passionate about their subject matter, it's pretty inspirational!
