What's Your Chocolate? Blogfest

Chocolate. Just the word makes me hungry for a little taste. When I saw this blogfest advertised on Ciara Knight's blog, I couldn't resist signing up. Chocolate and Authors - a match made in heaven! I'll venture a guess that no great book has ever been written without the help of a little chocolate something... well, maybe one or two, but really. Who can write without indulging in chocolate somewhere along the line?

Not me, that's for sure.

So what's my chocolate addiction? Well, anything chocolate pretty much disappears in my house (hey, 2.5 teenagers live here...plus, you know, ME...)

But... I have to admit my guilty pleasure is M&Ms.

Love to bake them into cookies. Love the sound they make as you pour them from the (large) bag into a glass candy bowl... Love to sort them by color... Love the fact that they brought back the blue ones... and especially LOVE the fact that none of my kids are too wild about them. Seriously. My daughter won't touch them, my oldest son is indifferent, and my middle child only eats the peanut M&Ms.

So... More for Me. Wait - maybe that's what M&Ms really stands for!!!

To check out some other posts about chocolate and it's importance in the world of writing, check out the rest of the authors particpating in this blogfest - HERE.

And then tell me... What's your favorite chocolate treat?

  2. I've never tried a M & M cookie before. Maybe one day because I do like M & Ms. The ads for them always make me laugh.

    1. The M&M cookie recipe is on the back of the bag - it's the BEST. They make great Holiday cookies too, with the bags of all red & green ones in December ;-)

    1. My oldest son just tried the peanut butter ones last week - I can't have them in the house because, umm, they disappear? So he's never had one before ;-) (bad mom!)

  4. I used to LOVE M&M's! And I got the biggest tickle from this:
"Love the sound they make as you pour them from the (large) bag into a glass candy bowl..."

You are so right. They make the prettiest tinkling sound as they clink into a glass dish! Loved that memory. :-)
Oh, and as a kid I sorted them by color, too. :-D

  5. It's great when you can by a big bag and no one wants to share, isn't it? Unfortunately, I got my kids liking Revels, so I have to share now :-(

    1. Answer: Buy 2 bags and hide one ;-)
Okay, that's Bad Mom talking again I guess. But really. You don't have to share everything ;-)

  6. Hi Katie .. sounds like you hit the right chocolate to concentrate on ... sometimes I love our Smarties - similar chocolate bites ... and used to love painting my lips with the red one, or the dark chocolate one to give a richer hue!

    Cheers - Hilary

    1. I loved Smarties when I was studying in London! Even better were those little chocolate "animal bars" from Nestle, from the vending machines in the Underground. LOVED being able to get a chocolate fix while waiting on the train platform ;-)

I mean, it's not like I don't want them to like my favorite treat... it's just convenient that they don't....

  9. I like the blue M&Ms too. My fave chocolate is always Dark chocolate, and a little goes a long way.

Kids are funny. Siblings sometimes won't trust something if their brother or sis doesn't.

    1. I don't care for the dark chocolate M&Ms, though. Love the dark chocolate Hershey Kisses, and almost all forms of dark chocolate... but not M&Ms.

  11. I love M&Ms, and love chocolate chip cookies, but I do not like the M&M cookies. I know, that is a bit weird, but consider the source. I like cherry pie with chocolate ice cream, and do not like chocolate and peanut butter. LOL

This blog hop is so much fun. I have found some great recipes and met some new blogger friends.

  19. Wait, blue M&M's didn't exist for a while? I guess if I ate chocolate regularly I would have known this. I guess that what I get for not liking the stuff. :3
