I'm in love with the new coffee shop I found in Brewster!
Okay, I didn't find it on my own - a new friend invited me to meet her there. It just opened Labor Day weekend, getting the kinks out all winter and now starting to staff up for the busy summer season.
The logo is hauntingly cute, the decor is shabby chic and very comfortable, and they roast the beans right there. Herbs and crystals in the back room, different glass coffee making equipment scattered as decorative features, couches, chairs and whatnot. The pendant lights are handblown glass encased in chicken wire - really cool, actually. There's a community vibe, not a fast-paced Starbucks kind of place at all.
And the coffee! Yum! I think this is the first time I've had a drawing on my coffee since our last trip to Mexico. Yeah, it's been a while.
Snowy Owl Coffee Roasters, on Route 6A in Brewster, near the Brewster Book Store.
From their website:
Also from their website, their "approach" or really, the mission statement:"We built out our space at 2624 Main Street in Historic Brewster. Keeping with the old barn-like character of Great Cape Herbs, we used 200 year-old reclaimed barn wood and other materials gathered from within the community. We offer kids' and adult coloring materials, books, open mic nights, acoustic Sundays, and other events for our amazing community. Snowy Owl Coffee House has become a central gathering space for our community, where people connect to the art of roasting and preparing coffee while enjoying themselves, kids, friends, and family."
(Love this so much!!!!)"Snowy Owl Coffee Roasters offers the finest selection of freshly roasted and meticulously prepared coffees to the Cape Cod public and beyond. SO Coffee aims to raise consciousness about direct trade, organic and environmentally sound coffee-growing practices, and sustainable business practices, including environmental and social stewardship in our own transactions. We strive to ensure the highest quality in all our products by paying attention to the conditions that we control, which include:
Overall we strive to change the relationship that we, Cape Codders, and our visitors have to this black gold."
- the quality of the green beans sourced,
- the freshness and roasting profile of our beans,
- the brewing methods chosen,
- the information we share to the public, and
- the experience of excellent service to each customer.

I totally recommend checking it out - if you can, do it before summer kicks into gear. If not, plan to wait in line. This place is pretty cool.
I like coffee and this place sounds perfect. Just inhaling the aroma would calm me. I am fond of the taste and smell of coffee. We had a big coffee line here called Murchies a few years back where I loved just standing in the shop smelling all the good smells. Thanks for stirring up good memories!
ReplyDeleteGlad I was able to make you smile and start your weekend on the right foot. I really hope this place is around for a good long time!
